With the weekend behind us, it’s time for another edition of Motorbike Mondays – and racing on to the Car Loan Warehouse’s radar today is the mighty KTM 1190 Adventure. This lean machine is capable of taking on the likes of BMW’s R1200GS, and in today’s KTM 1190 Adventure review, we’re going to see what all the fuss is about. And if you’re looking for motorcycle finance, stick around until the end to find out more. It’s showtime!
Design
After the success of the 990 Adventure, KTM’s new bike had a lot to live up to, and it hasn’t disappointed. A design overhaul makes the new Adventure motorcycle even more attractive than before, but aesthetics are not all this bike has to rave about – comfort is also high on the 1190’s list of impressive updates. Adjustment is available on just about everything the rider could hope for; including a saddle range of 34.3 to 35 inches – and an alterable bar and footpeg position. The windshield can be heightened to suit the rider and provides plenty of protection, allowing you to literally sit back and enjoy the ride.
Performance and Handling
Moving onto the performance of the 1190 and KTM have continued to up their game. The 1195 cc 2-cylinder engine packs a pretty punch for a bike in the adventure category, with its top speed exceeding 150mph! This on-road ride comes with Electronic Damping System suspension (standard on all 1990s), a range of power modes and the latest Bosch 9ME ABS. The KTM 1990 Adventure’s no-fuss suspension makes it easier to navigate on uneven roads and the new, light slipper clutch means the rider doesn’t have to work as hard to get the bike moving. With a power output of 150bhp and tipping the scales at 230kg, the 1190 destroys its rivals in terms of its power-to-weight ratio.
Features
All 1190 bikes come with traction control and various fuel modes as standard, but electronic suspension tacks on an extra £800. The only analogue feature on the KTM 1990 Adventure is the rev-counter – this is positioned next to a digital panel which displays all of the bike’s essential figures; including air temperature, power modes and fuel consumption. All other clock faces are digital, making them prominent and easy to read.
