Motorbike Mondays: BMW G450X

July 13, 2015

It’s Monday again and if you’re already longing for the weekend, fear not – we’ve got a motorbike review guaranteed to get you revved up for the working week ahead. Speeding into the Car Loan Warehouse’s spotlight today is the BMW G450X – and with a reputation for strong, reliable builds, we’re expecting big things from the German giant.

So, if you need a little push to propel you into the working week, check out our BMW G450X review and find out how you could get your hands on an off-roader of your own.

Design

After toying with the concept of a dirt bike for years, BMW finally took the plunge and produced the BMW G450X – and as to be expected, it’s anything but conventional. BMW motorbikes are known for their defiance against the norm – and making its debut in 2009, the G450X exhibited innovative design. From seating position to comfortable handlebar reach, this enduro was manufactured with the rider in mind.

Performance and Handling

As the G450X’s name suggests, it has a 449cc engine – providing enough power for off-road jaunts as well a longer cross-country trips. With an elevated riding position, responsive steering and powerful brakes – the G450X is a well-rounded performer, perfect for a day of hitting the trails.

BMW G450X Specs

    • Engine: 449cc, liquid-cooled, 4-valve single cylinder
    • Power: 52bhp @ 7,800rpm
    • Torque: 40 Nm @ 5400rpm
    • Top Speed: 85mph

Features

The mechanics of the motorbike were built around its drive-sprocket design and thanks to the lack of movement between the chain and swingarm, there’s minimal stress on the drive system. As well as its rugged drive-sprocket design, the road-legal BMW G450X comes kitted out with hazard lights, anti-lock brakes and a 3-way catalytic converter – making it a reliable ride both on and off-road.

BMW Motorcycle Finance

A brand new BMW G450X would have set you back £5,595, but since it’s no longer in production, you can pick up a second-hand enduro for around £3,000. Whether you’ve got your eye on this off-roader or want to explore other BMW motorcycles, our flexible range of finance options mean you can secure your dream bike sooner than you think.
