Available as either a 3-door or 5-door hatchback, the latest generation of the BMW 1 Series is a serious head turner. At the top end of the scale is the mighty 3.0 litre turbo 6-cylinder petrol engine – generating a hefty 315 bhp thanks to its double-VANOS timing and precision injection systems. The top of the range M135i is capable of hitting 60 mph in just 5.1 seconds, maxing out at an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. The wide range of petrol and diesel engines offer something for everyone with the 1 Series – putting in a strong performance across the board.
