The i10 rose to incredible popularity during the scrappage scheme years – and in 2015, it’s back with a vengeance. The new Hyundai i10 still boasts the great practicality, control and fuel economy of its predecessor, but gets a major update to its styling and some exciting new engine options. On top of that, the Hyundai i10 price starts at £8,595 – which is delightfully cheap, even without the government funding. As far as city cars go, the i10 is ready to compete in 2015.

Although we’ll have to wait until September before the all-time best selling drop-top two-seater gets its much needed update, we’re already waiting with baited breath. The new Mazda MX-5 has shed 15 stone off its kerb weight and benefits from Mazda’s new Skyactiv engine tech. This will improve the Japanese sports car’s handling and control. Add to this some minor exterior and interior updates and the rumoured folding hard-top option and the Mazda MX-5 is more than prepared for the future of motoring,

The Swedes have finally updated their twelve-year-old Volvo XC90 off-roader – and the result is utterly gorgeous. The new Volvo XC90 will offer Volvo’s complete range of new Drive-E engines, and will include turbocharge, supercharge and hybrid electric options, resulting in a positively huge performance selection. Make sure to keep an eye out for Volvo XC90 reviews in 2015 if, for some reason, you still need convincing.

Prepared to compete with the immensely popular Audi A4, as well as the BMW 3 Series, it should come as no surprise that the new Jaguar XE boasts some seriously intimidating engine options. Coventry has provided the Jaguar XE with an incredibly efficient diesel engine for the fuel economy minded, returning 75mpg and below 100g/km of CO2 emissions. And if you’ve got a need for speed, the Jaguar XE’s supercharged 3.0litre V6 will get you from 0-62mph in under 5 seconds. If that wasn’t enough, the XE even comes with a more competitive price tag. Watch out 2015 – the new Jaguar XE is ready to roar.
