So whether you’re in the mood for a quiet cruise through Blighty’s quaint countryside or looking to stay closer to home, we’ve lined up some great British drives for you to explore.

Roadtrip

The EVO Triangle

Named because of the shape formed by the A543, A5 and B4501, the EVO Triangle is tucked away in the wonderful region of North Wales. Enthusiastic drivers will get a thrill from navigating through the winding roads, while eager sightseers can drink in the jaw-dropping scenery.

The Snake Pass

The cheekily named Snake Pass is the section of the A57 which crosses the Pennine hills. Weaving its way through the Peak District, this route boasts some of Britain’s best views and is popular with drivers and cyclists alike.

Cheddar Gorge

Take a trip to Somerset’s Mendip Hills and marvel at the tourist hotspot of Cheddar Gorge. With natural cliffs and hills, this breathtaking beauty is home to the Cheddar caves – and whether you want to stay in the car or park up and set off on foot, the landscape is bursting with natural beauty for you to experience first-hand.

Hutton-le-Hole

Hiding away in the heart of North Yorkshire is the picturesque village of Hutton-le-Hole. If you’re in search of an idyllic road trip surrounded by nature, this pocket-sized parish is just 7 miles outside of Pickering and is the epitome of community spirit. Watch out for the sheep, mind!

Abergwesyn Mountain Road

For the more daring driver, the Abergwesyn Mountain Road runs over the Cambrian mountains. If you’re brave enough to take on the steep incline and pass over the Devil’s Staircase, you’ll be rewarded with a refreshing beverage in any one of the mountain’s tiny villages.

So whether you’re looking to stay local or fancy a long haul drive, these beautiful British destinations can get you started on your rural road trip this summer. And if you’re looking for the perfect road trip playlist, check out the next installment of our Ultimate Road Trip Guide.
