Today the all-new Peugeot 508 was revealed in London and it looks like this baby’s going up-market. It’s clear the 508’s had a top-to-bottom, inside-out makeover, complete with upgrades on everything from the exterior design to the dashboard – and we’ve got all the leaked images and dirty details right here.
The new 508 goes on sale this September and looks fully equipped to compete with its rival the Ford Mondeo, with its spanking new host of cosmetic and technical upgrades.
This year, all three 508 models, the saloon, estate and high-riding RX, get new front and rear ends, complete with sexy new grilles and LED head and tail lights. On top of that, the bonnet’s been resculpted, with significant adjustments made to both front and rear bumpers.
On the inside, the car is reminiscent of Peugeot’s 308 hatch, with increased functionality added to the 508’s seven-inch touchscreen. In addition to brand new dials and an instrument panel, there’s also a new standard colour heads-up display, reversing camera and blind spot mirror sensors – making this one exceptionally kitted-out piece of machinery.
With engine updates – including a Euro 6 compliant 1.6 litre turbo petrol with 165bhp to replace the previous 156bhp – the Peugeot 508 even guarantees better performance and super low emissions.
The Peugeot 508 will be showing its pretty face this August at the Moscow and Chengdu motor shows, and we can’t wait for a nice, long look at this elegant beast guaranteed to take the market by storm this Autumn. The 508 is estimated to be priced competitively at £20,000 for the entry level model.
