Skoda Rapid Review

September 23, 2015

Going under the microscope this week is the Skoda Rapid – and while this car may have the styling of a saloon, it’s actually a practical hatchback. If you’re a big fan of the Skoda Rapid and fancy bagging one for yourself, then the Car Loan Warehouse has plenty of flexible Skoda finance options – meaning you could be driving away in one before you know it.

Ready to find out more? Buckle up as we take it for a spin in today’s Skoda Rapid review.

Design

When it comes to appearance, the Skoda Rapid appearance is deceptive – offering the benefits of a bigger car, but sitting pretty in the hatchback class. This clever styling from Skoda means there’s bags of room inside, with a boot space of 550 litres – even with the rear seats in place – making it a practical and comfortable ride for five people.

Performance & Handling

The Skoda Rapid offers a choice of petrol and diesel engines, all of which are easy to drive – so choosing a power preference might be a struggle. If you’re a petrol lover, we’d recommend the 1.2 litre TSI – which packs in plenty of power, returns 55.4mpg and still keeps CO2 emissions at 119g/km.

If you’re after a punchier ride, the 1.4 litre TSI petrol delivers a significantly faster performance – while those in the market for excellent fuel economy should go for the 104bhp 1.6 litre TSI diesel. This engine returns 64.4mpg and emits just 114g/km CO2.

Features

With four trim levels to choose from, the basic entry level S comes with front electric windows and daylight running lights – but those on the hunt for a touch more tech would be better moving up the range.

If you’re willing to splash a little extra cash, the SE trim comes kitted with Bluetooth connectivity and a trip computer. But for petrol-heads who fancy 17 alloy wheels and swanky sport seats, the Sport spec is the way to go.
