When it comes to design, Peugeot have made a leap forward from their well-known hatches – and this is evident in the edgy RCZ. From the outside, the coupe’s striking looks make it a real head-turner and one of the most visually desirable cars on the road. Climb inside the cabin and with its soft-touch materials and dynamic dashboard design, the interior emanates expense. In terms of practicality, there’s plenty of steering adjustment, meaning drivers of any height should be able to find a comfortable position. The RCZ is a four seater, although rear seats are more suitable for children than adults. However, even with the seats up, the boot has a generous capacity – making the Peugeot RCZ practical as well as attractive.

Performance & Handling

If you’re in the market for an RCZ, performance is likely to be high on your list – so let’s take a look at the figures. This stylish coupe is available with a 1.6 litre petrol or a 2.0 litre diesel engine. The petrol engine offers drivers either 156bhp or 200bhp depending on spec level, with the entry-level powertrain achieving a claimed fuel economy of 44.1mpg and managing 0-62mph in 8.3secs. The sportier 200bhp engine takes just 7.6 secs to reach the same speed and only costs £35 more a year to tax. The 163bhp diesel engine achieves 0-62mph in 8.7secs and claims a fuel economy of 54.3mpg. Annual road tax for this engine is £130, due to its 135g/km CO2 emissions. The RCZ handles well, with its stiff suspension offering plenty of precision and strong grip meaning there is minimal body roll when the RCZ takes on the bends.

Equipment is generous across the range, with the entry-level Sport models coming kitted out with alloys, rear parking sensors, sports seats, dual-zone climate control and a USB connection. GT models up the RCZ’s game by including automatic wipers and lights, electrically adjustable heated seats, front parking sensors and leather upholstery for added luxury.
