Peugeot 308 Review

October 1, 2015

Attractive, comfortable and economical – these are just some of the words that go hand-in-hand with the Peugeot 308. Buyers can choose from an impressive engine lineup – with many powertrains packing a decent performance, as well as going easy on the environment.

So with bags of aesthetic appeal and excellent fuel economy, this family hatchback has plenty to shout about. Ready to find out more? Let’s dive into today’s Peugeot 308 review.

Design

When it comes to practicality, the Peugeot 308 easily outstrips the VW Golf. The huge 470 litre boot provides plenty of storage space for luggage – and while the rear seats might not fold completely flat, the boot expands to a massive 1,309 litres.

If dynamic design is high on your priority list, the Peugeot 308 will be right up your street – combining a stylish exterior with a classy cabin. This model has stacks to offer buyers – but if you’re looking for the ultimate style and space combination, it’s worth checking out the Peugeot 308 SW.

Performance & Handling

Buyers in the market for an easy-to-drive ride will appreciate the 308’s lightweight steering – and thanks to being dramatically lighter than the 307, it’s also much cheaper to run. In terms of making an impression, we can’t fault the 120bhp 1.6 litre diesel. Returning a huge 91.1mpg, this engine also emits just 82g/km of CO2 – making it free from road tax.

The petrols don’t disappoint, either – with the basic 1.2 litre returning 56.5mpg. If performance is a priority, you might want to test drive the new Peugeot 308 GT – which comes in an array of eye-catching colours and packs a powerful punch.

Features

If you’re looking for a car that comes brimming with bags of equipment, the Peugeot 308 won’t let you down. All models in the range come kitted with LED daytime running lights, air conditioning, cruise control and a bluetooth connection.

If you fancy the Sportium spec, you’ll get dual-zone climate control, 16 inch alloy wheels and a 9.7 inch touchscreen. For full LED headlights and 17 inch alloys, buyers can step up to the aptly-named Allure model.
