Design
Combining the compact dimensions of a hatchback with the practicality of an SUV, this crossover comes with generous head and legroom – as well as a smattering of storage spaces throughout the cabin.
The 3008’s well-built interior has a taller body than a standard hatchback, making it easier for both the driver and passengers to get comfortable – and boot space sits at 512 litres, rivaling the likes of the Skoda Yeti.
Performance & Handling
If diesel is your fuel of choice, the basic 1.6 litre takes 12 seconds to get to 62mph and returns 68.9mpg – with CO2 emissions of 108g/km for an annual road tax bill of £20. The more powerful 2.0 litre diesel is just as economical as the 1.6 litre and provides better performance – so if power is a priority, we’d invest in this engine.
For a petrol-powered Peugeot 3008, the 1.2 litre comes between both diesels – accelerating from 0-62mph in 10.8 seconds. The ultra-efficient hybrid engine might be more expensive to buy but, with excellent fuel economy and a 0-62mph time of 9.2 seconds, it’s worth every penny.
Features
There are three trim levels available with the Peugeot 3008, with the basic Access spec coming with air conditioning and electric front windows – but buyers looking for a touch more tech will want to move up the range.
The Active trim packs in automatic lights and wipers, cruise control, alloy wheels, parking sensors and Bluetooth connection – which should be more than enough kit for most drivers.
For a panoramic roof, head-up display and climate control, those willing to spend the extra cash can shell out on the Allure model.
