Motorbike Mondays: Moto Guzzi Eldorado Review

June 8, 2015

If the weekend seems like a distant memory and Monday is proving to be a struggle, fear not! Racing onto the Car Loan Warehouse’s radar today is the brand new Moto Guzzi Eldorado. Moto Guzzi are no strangers to the spotlight and with A-list actor and well-known motorbike fan Ewan McGregor recently becoming the face of the new California Eldorado, Moto Guzzi once again find themselves front page news – and we want to see what all the fuss is about. In today’s Moto Guzzi Eldorado review, we’ll find out what this luxury bike has to offer and tell you how you could get your hands on a Moto Guzzi finance deal to suit you. Let’s do this.

With roots dating back to 1921, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer is the oldest in Europe and has played a prominent part in the country’s motorbike history.

Maintaining its retro 70s styling but adding plenty of impressive tech, some Moto Guzzi Eldorado reviews argue that this bike is trying too hard – but we think the Italian’s innovative mixture of old and new creates the perfect bike.

The Eldorado undoubtedly commands attention – from its spoked wheels to its hefty 315kg weight this Moto Guzzi keeps all the personality of its predecessor but brings a new edge to the rider-friendly bike. With the new saddle positioned just 28.5 inches from the ground, the bike inspires confidence and the rider should find it easy to get comfortable. Despite coming with a solo seat, the Eldorado comes with mountings for a fold away seat to carry an extra passenger

Performance and Handling

In terms of performance, the Moto Guzzi Eldorado is a welcome companion whether you’re travelling in town or out on the motorway. If you find yourself on an open stretch of road, you can activate cruise control and allow the bike to do the hard work.

Moto Guzzi Eldorado Specs

  • Engine: 90° V-twin engine, 4-stroke, 4 valves, double ignition
  • Power: 96bhp @ 6500 rpm
  • Torque: 120Nm @ 2,750rpm
  • Fuel tank: 5.5 gallons

When it comes to equipment and style, Moto Guzzi has an impressive catalogue of kit. The new Eldorado come with LED daylight running lights (DRL), white walled tyres and a chrome finish, as well as 16 inch spoked wheels. Thanks to the new tech the rider can select a Turismo, Veloce or Pioggia engine management maps –  and the new traction control system (MGCT) also has three adjustable levels to enhance safety without interfering with performance.
