74 year old Irvin Gordon from New York has driven his car the equivalent of 120 times around the world and claimed a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
The retired teacher bought his pride and joy when just 25 years old for $4150 and claims never to have broken down in it.
The 1966 Volvo P1800S has averaged between 85,000 and 100,000 miles per year and has had 857 oil changes, 30 new drive belts, 150 sets of spark plugs and about 120 bottles of gear box oil.
Most of Irv’s trips are to car shows and he now represents Volvo at many meetings across America.
Mr Gordon thinks that there is plenty of life left in his car and said ‘I have a feeling I’ll be dead long before the car.’
Volvo does have a reputation for reliability but this is really something.
Car Loans from The Car Loan Warehouse are generally only about 4 years which is nothing if you keep your next car for as long as Irvin has!!
