2014’s Geneva Motor Show kicks off on 4th March, with the world’s leading automakers unveiling an array of powerful and handsome new beasts. This year’s set to be an exciting one for sure, with many game-changing vehicles confirmed for the event. And if you’re as anxious as we are, settle down. We’re here to tide you over till the big event with a look at three of the sexiest cars we can expect an eyeful of – just eleven short days from now.
Fiat Panda Cross Off-Roader
Based on the Panda 4×4, the new Fiat Panda Cross Off-Roader is pumped full of testosterone – with bigger tyres, a suspension raised high enough to give you a smooth ride from one end of Middle Earth to the other, and myriad technologies to give the car an extra push when the route looks tough.
The car has been built with the city road in mind, but with the added extras of an off-road vehicle – which may come in handy in certain scenarios – we can definitely agree that it’s best to be prepared. You never know when you’re going to need to take a sharp turn off that main road, only to find yourself traversing those country territory dirt roads.
The Cross Off-Roader comes packed with a 3 litre diesel four cylinder engine, which puts out 80 horsepower – or you can choose a supercharged 900cc engine two cylinder with 90 horsepower – so motorheads looking for massive power will enjoy.
The Fiat Panda 4×4 has a starting price of around £14,995 – so the newer Cross Off-Roader could cost over £16,000, but is as of now unannounced. Keep those eyes peeled for that price in the coming days.
Audi S3
Audi’s newest car, available to order in April this year, is the Audi S3. The car features the powertrain from the S3 Hatchback – so it boasts an impressive 0-62mph in 5.4 seconds, with a turbocharged four wheel 300mph engine.
The car features a Quattro four wheel drive system, which incorporates an electronically controlled hydraulic multi-plate clutch. For those who aren’t car savvy, this means the traction is being dynamically controlled, so that the drive is automatically directed to the rear wheels if any wheel slip is detected to maximise traction.
Audi is likely to start shipping the orders in July – and this beauty will cost around £38,000 – so if you’re looking for some new wheels and don’t fancy that price tag, see how we can help you finance your dream car.
The Land Rover Defender Pack
This year will see the release of the Land Rover Defender, which will come in a 2 pack – black and silver. The Rovers will be entirely identical when broken down to raw specs, and the Defenders boast 2.2 litre diesel engines – which put out a tremendous amount of torque, at 360Nm with 90% of the engine’s peak power always on tap.
Something worth noting is that now we’re now seeing privacy glass making an arrival in the Defender series – which is a first – alongside the Alston Headlining interiors, which have been pulled in from the Range Rover sport models. And did we mention buyers can also opt in for premium leather with contrasting colours? Guaranteed to make for a damn tasty finish.
Land Rover is yet to reveal a price point for these models at this time but expect an announcement soon.
