Can you help me with WAV finance please? I am employed but I only work 20 hours per week. I also receive the higher rate mobility allowance as I am a wheel chair user, plus on top of this I also receive an Employment and Support Allowance. My total monthly income totals £1300 but when I applied for finance recently for a Volkswagen Caddy I was told that my disability benefits wouldn’t be taken into consideration and that my other income wouldn’t be enough for them to approve me for the loan. I don’t know why as these benefits are permanent and are more secure that my current employment! The WAV that I would really like is a 2007 VW Caddy 1.9 TDi and has been professionally converted for wheel chair access and would be driven by my wife. The price is £11,000 and I could put down £1000 deposit if required. I look forward to hearing from you. R. Bettles.
