2016 Honda NSX Review

January 4, 2016

At The Car Loan Warehouse, we want to start the new year on a high, and what better way to dive into 2016 than by getting up close with the newly modelled Honda NSX – which is set for release in spring.

The original NSX redefined the face of supercars and this year’s model is also set to cause a stir on the automotive scene. Hoping to give the Porsche 911 and Audi R8 a new rival, the boldly styled supercar is in our sights – and in our 2016 Honda NSX review, we’ll be finding out why. Ready? Set? Let’s go!

Design

The 2015 Honda NSX impressed, but the 2016 Honda NSX means business. Despite design tweaks delaying the release date, this car is set to wow drivers with its sleek and updated look. Along with the aluminium composite body and carbonite flooring, this car has been designed with aerodynamics and high speed stability in mind. It’s aggressively styled with a low roofline, gaping side vents, dazzling LED lights and a pair of sharp blades on the bumper – giving the NSX a powerful road presence.

Despite the low-lying body, the car is easy to get in and out of and incredibly comfortable inside. The high quality interior is well laid out and comes with bags of space for the driver and passengers.

Performance & Handling

The Honda NSX won’t disappoint in terms of drivability. Fitted with a nine-speed dual-clutch gearbox that can be operated manually or automatically from steering wheel mounted controls, you can easily switch up and down the gears for exceptional control on the road.

The 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine comes with an additional electric motor on all four wheels, varying the power output to each wheel for better control and stability in corners. The combined engine output stands at 572bhp, delivering instant performance and excellent torque – powering from 0-62mph in just under 3 seconds and topping out at 191mph.

Features

As the 2016 Honda NSX hasn’t been officially released yet, some of the final features haven’t been confirmed – but if you’re in the market for one, here’s some of the things you can look forward to.

Inside the cabin, drivers and passengers can enjoy firm seats with a mix of Alcantara and leather upholstery, an adaptable TFT display, built-in infotainment system, keyless engine start and four driving modes – Quiet, Sport, Sport+ and Track – which ensure you’ll get the most out of the petrol-electric engine.
