Design

The Ford S Max proves that when it comes to design, MPVs can be just as sexy as five seater cars – and the 2015 model is no different. As far as people carriers go, few have combined style, practicality and the all important fun-factor as effectively as the Ford S Max has. Climb inside the S Max and you’ll see just how spacious this seven seater is. Its five rear seats all fold individually, meaning it can easily accommodate the biggest of families – with additional adjustment allowing easier access to the back row. With the seats folded flat, boot space swells to a staggering 2,000 litres – providing bags of room for your family’s luggage.

Performance & Handling

When it comes to performance, the Ford S Max is surprisingly fun to drive for an MPV – making journeys over any distance enjoyable. The 2.0 litre diesel engines in the Ford S Max come with four levels of tune; 118bhp, 148bhp, 178bhp, and 207bhp. In terms of fuel economy, the lively 178bhp is our pick of the range, returning 56.5mpg – while CO2 emissions of 129g/km make for an annual road tax bill of just £110. If you’d prefer a petrol engine, you can choose from a 158bhp 1.5 litre Ecoboost or a 238bhp 2.0 litre Ecoboost engine.

Features

The Ford S Max comes with Zetec, Titanium and Titanium Sport trims – with the basic spec coming with plenty of practical kit for a family car. The Zetec comes with both front and rear parking sensors, electric windows, dual-zone climate control and Bluetooth. However, if you’re happy to pay an extra £1,750, the Titanium model adds a Sat Nav system, bigger alloys and cruise control. If you’re feeling flush, the Titanium X Sport tacks on an extra £3,500 and adds a panoramic roof, sports suspension and leather seats.
